About and Critique
I'm a HUGE Art Nouveau fan. Like HUGE. I love the inking, the style, the coloring...I just had to try it! So, this is the result. It was actually used for an illustration for a book design assignment about Alphonse Mucha (one of the most prominent art nouveau artists). This was actually done traditionally using Copic markers (which are amazing and I love 'em!) and touched up digitally. I really like how the colors came out, which is how I would imagine the colors were originally, hot off the press. I think I would change her left eye since it's a bit off, and definitely expand on the crazy swirlies that are very reminiscent of art nouveau.
