Hello~
I'm Diane and this is my first post for this blog.
I'm not really sure how to describe myself to you all out there and how to give you an idea of the kind of artist that I am, so here it goes...
I love spontaneity but I also love order and processes.
I adore clean, crisp lines, but really like the grudge aesthetic.
I enjoy challenging myself, but have yet been able to figure out my own limits.
I feel as if I can only do art if it's assigned to me because I like working within certain restraints, most of the time. I think being creative within a box made of rules is challenging and makes you become more creative by thinking out of the box but staying within it. (Apologies for the cliche).
I'm full of oxymorons, I know. It makes me feel just as confused as you do.
And I think that's what I'd like to fix. I've been stuck in a limbo (both artistically and personally) for the passed couple of years. I haven't been really aiming for anything in particular but refusing to give up something that I've spent most of my life aspiring towards. So, for this class, semester, year...my only aspiration, my only goal is to find my creative spark.
You know. That spark. The thing that makes the little gerbil in your head, run a marathon. The energy behind what you do in life, your purpose. That's what I want to aim for. I'm not sure how I'm going to go about doing it. But I feel that the more I try, hopefully I'll find my way.
